Donna is an established actress and presenter, having started her career aged 10 in the hit children’s BBC drama ‘BYKER GROVE’ where she stayed for 5 years, only leaving to pursue a career in music as one half of hit girl duo ‘CRUSH’. When CRUSH parted ways, Donna took on the challenge of being the first female presenter on the original MTV series ‘MTV Select’ for the UK, presenting a daily 2 hour live music request show.
Donna proved a hit with the audiences, and further presenting roles quickly followed across the UK’s main broadcast channels including ITV’s ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ which was the show which bought us the award winning girl band Girls Aloud. She spent time ‘on the bed’ on Channel 4’s runaway hit ‘The Big Breakfast’ and even co-produced her own series for E4 titled ‘Donna In Need’.
Donna remains focused on her acting, and is one of the lucky few who has regularly crossed over between acting and presenting and has appeared in a number of hit dramas including the BBC’s adaptation of Lynda La Plante’s ‘Supply and Demand’, Paramount Films ‘Still Crazy’ and the third series of BBC’s smash hit series ‘Hotel Babylon’. Most recently she took to the west end stage here in London in the 2 hander ‘The Watcher’ which was met with critical acclaim, and appeared in Channel 4’s flagship award winning soap ‘Hollyoaks’ as the feisty Sophia.
Donna successfully divides her career between acting and presenting, as well as being a desirable brand ambassador working with a number of high profile brands. This year saw her team up with eHarmony to launch their new book and to blog her hilarious yet insightful dating stories, past and present. Taking her writing to the next level she was appointed as the new contributing features editor on the monthly glossy SHE Magazine with her own feature ‘Donna Meets…’ playing a part in their last issue.
This year her presenting work has seen her join forces with ITV1’s ‘This Morning’, Channel 5’s ‘OKTV!’, ITV2’s ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ and we are currently developing a documentary for the BBC where Donna looks into extreme beauty and the lengths people go to, to stay beautiful.
