At the ripe old age of 23 James is already a veteran on the comedy scene, he started his first sketch group age 16 called All The Milkman’s Children, who went on to win the BBC Radio Scotland New Comedy Talent Award 2004. At the Edinburgh Festival in 2006 they performed a one off hour show that was recorded and broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland. James is now one third of award winning comedy troupe How Do I Get Up There and is also a stand up comedian.
As a stand up James won the 2010 “So You Think Your Funny” award and he was nominated for Best New Comedian at the Scottish Variety Awards 2011. In July James will be heading over to Montreal for the Just for Laughs festival. Over the Summer James can be seen at the Edinburgh Festival doing 15 days with two other up and coming Scottish comedians at Bannermans as part of the PBH free fringe.
James’s acting credits have seen him appear in Rab C Nesbit, Gary: Tank Commander and The Ushers at The Tron Theartre. James has also written for The Ellis and Clarke Show for BBC Radio Scotland.
