.jpg) | | .gif) | | The Penny Dreadfuls are Humphrey Ker, David Reed and Thom Tuck, a group of performers who write and perform sketch comedy and also perform improvised comedy. They earned 5 star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival with their Victorian sketch comedy show “Aeneas Faversham Returns”. This follows hot on the heels of their previous Edinburgh successes with “Aeneas Faversham” and their improv show, “ShamWagon”.
The Penny Dreadfuls perform at venues throughout the UK. They enjoyed their first foray into television appearing on BBC3’s “Comedy Shuffle”. They also took part in the BBC Children In Need concert at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire, performed at the BBC Audio & Music Festival and more recently, wowed the crowds at the Latitude Festival, in Sussex.
Their performances inspire comparisons to The Goons, Monty Python and The League of Gentlemen, and their writing lends tribute to such greats as Conan Doyle, Dickens and HG Wells, but with a darkly comic twist!
Their own 4 part series, "The Penny Dreadfuls Present: The Brothers Faversham", based around the intriguing history and comic exploits of the Faversham family, recently aired on BBC7 and a second series has already been commissioned!
They are currently debuting their new show, "Aeneas Faversham Forever" - an hour long exploration into the murky depths of the Victorian underworld, involving a policeman, an orphan and a children's book author - at venues across the UK.

He is an accomplished stand-up comedian who regularly performs and comperes at venues across the country. His set is entirely improvised, giving the audience a real 'edge of their seats' experience rarely seen on the circuit!
Whilst studying radio broadcasting, Jamie hosted "The Jamie Anderson Show", a weekly mix of chat and music that gave him the thirst for improv and comedy performance.
He has performed with a wide range of improv comedy troupes, appearing regularly with the London-based Spontaneity Shop and Edinburgh-based groups 'The Improverts' and 'The Stand Players'. He has also been fortunate to study sketch-writing and improv in America, taking classes with The Second City and IO Chicago.
