David Reed

David is an award-winning actor, writer & comedian.

His TV credits include “Endeavour”, “Adult Material”, “Ghosts”, “Beyond Paradise” and “Daddy Issues”.

A talented improviser he has performed for “Showstopper!: The Improvised Musical”, “Austentatious”, “The Comedy Store Players” and “Fast & Loose” (BBC2).

As a writer he's written over twelve hours of The Penny Dreadfuls radio shows (with Humphrey Ker and Thom Tuck) and an animated series called “The Real History of Sex”. His playwrighting debut, “Guy Fawkes”, opened at York Theatre Royal in 2022 with David in the titular role. He’s also written episodes of the successful BBC series of “Daddy Issues”.

David and Humphrey Kerr’s theatrical extravaganza, “Sherlock Holmes & the Twelve Days of Christmas” - debuted at the Birmingham Rep over Christmas 2025 to both great audience and critical acclaim. The pair also starred as Sherlock (Humphrey) and John Watson. The play will return this year to Alexandra Palace!

David has just finished script-editing and performing in the second series of “The Many Wrongs of Lord Christian Brighty” (DLT Entertainment for BBC Radio 4), he has worked on a new CBBC show, “Judge Hacker” and is working on a radio adaptation of “The Adventures of TinTin”.
