Sydney Stevenson

Sydney is a Director, Writer and Actor. 

Her most recent Director-ship is currently playing at Highgate’s Upstairs at the Gatehouse - Gary Willmot’s “While they were Waiting” has been met with packed audiences and critical acclaim!

She came straight from an Autumn/Winter season as Associate Director on the West End and UK tour of “Christmas Carol Goes Wrong”.

From creative stock, it was in her blood and she didn’t stand a chance. Sydney trained at ArtsEd as an actor and after extensive experience across the industry is now also working as a Theatre Director and Writer. 

Sydney’s TV Comedy pilot, “Thicker Than Water” was the winner of UKTV’s and The Female Pilot club’s female writers’ initiative and developed with a leading production company.

As Assistant Director: “The Promise” (Chichester Festival Theatre), “Betrayal” (Theatre Royal Bath), “The Three Musketeers – Attempted by Foolhardy”, “1984” (ArtsEd), “Set Me Free” and “Halcyon Heights” (Short Films).

Writing Includes: “Thicker Than Water” (winner of the UKTV and Female Pilot club female writers initiative), “Fool” (One woman show and series currently in development), “Bubonic” (longlisted for the Papatango Prize and workshopped with ATG), “M*n and Women” (winner of the Voices from Home Competition with Broken Silence Theatre, Old Red Lion Theatre), “Next Door – An Awkward Love Story” (Tabard Theatre), “Old Bag” (Short Film), “The Three Musketeers - Attempted by FoolHardy” (Shown Online during Covid).
